Resize Your Photo & Signature for SSC Forms

SSC online applications (CGL, CHSL, MTS and others) reject a photo or signature that is the wrong dimensions, format or file size. Below are the commonly required specs, and the free tools to hit them — your image is resized and compressed in your browser and never uploaded.

The requirement

Photo dimensions
≈ 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm (passport style)
Photo file size
20 KB – 50 KB
Signature file size
10 KB – 20 KB
Format
JPEG / JPG

These are typical published values and can change from year to year and from one portal to another. Always confirm the exact requirement in the official notification or upload portal before you submit — the official source takes precedence over anything here.

Step by step

  1. 1Crop your photo to a passport-style 3.5:4.5 ratio, then resize it to the required pixels.
  2. 2Compress the photo to fit the 20–50 KB limit using the pre-armed 50 KB compressor.
  3. 3Sign on white paper, photograph or scan it, and crop tightly to the signature.
  4. 4Compress the signature to fit 10–20 KB, then upload both to the SSC portal.
